China Interior Design Association (CIDA) held the " 2013 China Interior Design Awards Ceremony " on the evening of December 5 at the China World Summit Hotel in Beijing. Nearly 1,000 guests from home and abroad gathered to witness the grand presentation of several authoritative awards. LYCS Architecture`s founder and host architect RUAN Hao was selected as one of the "Top 10 Chinese Interior Designers of the Year 2013" and went to receive the award.
The "Top 10 Chinese Interior Designers of the Year" is an authoritative interior design award carefully cultivated by the China Interior Decoration Association in recent years, aiming to promote design innovation, affirm the achievements and contributions of interior design leaders, and enhance the status and social influence of interior designers. It is reported that this activity is known as the "Oscars" in the field of interior design in China, and is sponsored by Living Home Flooring. The "2013 China's Top 10 Interior Designers of the Year" were also awarded to Shi Dayu, Yang Dongjiang and Mr. Chen Yaoguang, who also has his roots in Hangzhou. Alessandro Mendini, chief product creative consultant of Living Home and the father of Italian post-modern design, attended the event and presented the awards to the winners of the China Interior Design Awards.
RUAN Hao is the founder of LYCS Architecture, a professor at the School of Architecture of China Academy of Art, and a leading figure of post-85 designers. He is also the founder of furnishing, the largest online design platform in China. RUAN Hao has a master's degree in architecture from Princeton University and a master's and bachelor's degree in architecture from Tsinghua University. He is the youngest visiting scholar in the history of Harvard University School of Design. He is the first architect and interior designer to be selected as one of the Forbes China 30 Under 30 Entrepreneurs. He is also the youngest recipient of the China Young Architects Award, the highest honor for young architects in China, and has been honored as one of the "World's 50 Innovative Designers Under 50" and a "Goldman Sachs Global Leader".
