LYCS Architecture Exhibition Design "the BAUHAUS Collection at the National Museum of Art" Launched

The exhibition "Design as Enlightenment - The BAUHAUS Collection at the China International Design Museum" opened at the National Museum of China on September 28th at 11am. The exhibition LYCS Architecture is another important design work following the "Art of Enlightenment" exhibition in 2011. The exhibition revolves around the Bauhaus ideal of "enlightenment" in five aspects, including "enlightenment of thought", "enlightenment of form and material", "enlightenment of education The exhibition is organized around five aspects of the Bauhaus ideal, including "Enlightenment of Ideas", "Enlightenment of Forms and Materials", "Enlightenment of Education", "Enlightenment of Production" and "Enlightenment of Everyday Life".

Organized by the Hangzhou Municipal Government and the China Academy of Art, the exhibition is based on the "Systematic Collection of Western Modern Design History with the Bauhaus as the Core" introduced by the Hangzhou Municipal Government in 2010. This largest Bauhaus collection in Asia covers urban planning, architectural design, industrial design, graphic design, dyeing and weaving design, as well as paintings, sculptures, theater works and related documents. The China Academy of Art has formed the China International Design Museum and the Bauhaus Institute to explore the historical value of the Bauhaus Collection. This exhibition is the largest exhibition of the collection since it was established at the China Academy of Art, and is centered on the Bauhaus ideal of "enlightenment" in five areas: art, design, education, production and life, revealing the Bauhaus's grand blueprint for social renewal.

The exhibition runs until November 8, and a symposium around the theme will be held on September 29 in the gallery. Visitors to the exhibition can also pick up a free storybook, watch animated films and multimedia installations to learn more about the history of the Bauhaus. It is also noted that, in conjunction with the exhibition, the Bauhaus Research Institute of the China Academy of Art and Shandong Fine Arts Publishing House will launch a series of five books on "Chinese Design and World Design Research Series".
