On September 26, 2015, Beijing International Design Week 2015 kicked off with LYCS Architecture's "Catable 2.0" exhibited in the "Beyond Architecture" theme exhibition.
"Beyond Architecture" is a continuous movement and creative practice that starts from the architect's perspective and actively relates to art, design, music, dance, film, literature and other fields outside of architectural creation. "Crossing over" is a kind of imagination overflow, a benign brain and intellectual movement. The switching of architects between different platforms will greatly expand their minds and stimulate their imagination. The interaction between different fields will in turn drive the architects' architectural practice and keep them passionate about architecture. Cross-border practice outside of architecture marks the birth of a new design direction and the rise of a new design camp in China.
The Cat Table 2.0 is no longer a traditional scale table, but four wooden cubes "kitten tables". Each one has a different shape and a path for the cat to play, while the remaining space can be defined by the user: to put books, display collections, or even keep fish. Users can "build blocks" to combine these units into stools, coffee tables, low cabinets or bookshelves, creating a series of furniture and a unique cat playground just for you.
