Ten-year "Experimental Architecture" Teaching Reform Exhibition Debuts at China Academy of Art

On April 21, the founder of LYCS Architecture RUAN Hao and partner Zhan Yuan brought their students' works to the exhibition of the ten-year "Experimental Architecture" teaching reform at China Academy of Art.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the School of Architecture of the China Academy of Art, and this exhibition is the first time in the past ten years that the School of Architecture has systematically exhibited its teaching works on "experimental architecture". The main theme of the exhibition is the spirit of experimentation in contemporary architecture. A total of 36 groups of works were exhibited in this exhibition. Xu Jiang, the president of China Academy of Art, commented on the exhibition with eight words: "Large-scale civil engineering, five flowers". The "five flowers" refers to "viewing, calligraphy, painting, materials and labor", which are the characteristics of the China Academy of Art; the "eight doors" are "the doors of criticism, the doors of reverberation, the doors of edge", The "eight doors" are "the door of criticism, the door of reverberation, the door of edge, the door of fiction, the door of construction", which are the eight themes of this exhibition. Wang Shu, the dean of the School of Architecture, hopes that through this exhibition, the public will pay more attention to and understand architecture, and more importantly, through the internal communication of the architectural education community, break through the persistent problem of "not producing masters" in Chinese architectural education, and show how to cultivate architectural talents in a free environment. He said, "Only in a state of experimentation, in an open state, can masters be born."
