ELLE DECORATION, in collaboration with Louis Vuitton City Travel Guide, launched a global design tour, following the designer's footsteps and visiting 56 cities across Asia to explore the design, culture, fashion and craftsmanship of each city. During the tour, we shared the Hong Museum of Art, a renovation project for children's art education and exhibition, located on the shore of Li Gongdi in Suzhou's Jinji Lake. The building, interior and furnishingwere designed by LYCS Architecture.
"The museum uses 'light' as a yardstick to determine the scale of space, and revitalizes the interactive atmosphere of the architectural space with the introduction of multi-dimensional light."
The design of the building takes natural daylight as the main line, and subtracts from the building block to achieve a rich sense of spatial hierarchy. The façade is designed to enhance the sense of façade composition through the combination of reality and fiction, and to let the light and space change continuously in the interweaving.
