Linhai Jiangnan ZAN Store is located in the ancient Ziyang Street in Linhai, Taizhou, which has a thousand-year history and is a symbol of the famous historical and cultural city of Linhai. The former Jiangnan ZAN is one of the many historical buildings that have been preserved. The main demand of the owner is to create a cultural and creative brand store with jiangnan characteristics. The biggest challenge was how to use modern design techniques and building materials without destroying the overall form of Ziyang Street, so that the old building could meet modern aesthetics and meet the owner's usage needs, while reintegrating into the contemporary city with a new attitude. The design combines the local culture of Linhai Ziyang ancient street with the historical veins and characteristic products of jiangnan to create a new retail model for cultural tourism, empowering the cultural and creative industries and driving the industrial upgrading of the local economy. In the spatial design, the characteristic element of jiangnan water town, "wave", is taken as the main body of the design. The design structured the "wave" element into wave, wave head and wave, and abstracted the giant image element. The spatial structure is built according to the shape of the wave, and the white curved surface is used to divide the space, forming a sharp contrast with the old building. The flowing and irregular waves signify the eight display areas of the store space, each highlighting its unique personality. The waves symbolize the way of display, and the splashing waves fall on different booths of the space in different forms. The building faÇade is made of large floor-to-ceiling glass instead of solid walls, creating a strong visual impact. The fusion and collision of new elements and old buildings gives a wonderful sense of time travel.
