The 2021 SARA NY Design Award, an initiative of the American Institute of Registered Architects organized by the New York Council, announced the results in October. LYCS Architecture was awarded the 2021 SARA NY Design Honor Award for its work " KINCANG Business School".
SARA, short for Society of American Registered Architects, is a dynamic organization of architects and industry-related partners. Founded in 1956, SARA's mission is "Architects helping Architects" and is an organization focused on friendship and collaboration.
KINCANG Business School is located in Shaoxing Keyan Scenic Area, which is surrounded by mountains and water and has a superior geographical environment. It is a renovation project for Shaoxing local real estate group Jinchang with corporate training as the main function. The design of the facade renovation retains the original white walls and black tiles on the basis of maintaining a harmonious style with the surrounding buildings. The design of the façade pursues a minimalist sense of refinement and order. The large floor-to-ceiling windows combined with the design of perforated panels, on the one hand, bring the outdoor landscape into the interior as a real frame view, integrating the indoor and outdoor space to the greatest extent; on the other hand, the design of perforated panels can maintain the sense of order of the façade even when the windows are open.
