Our "Catable" 1.0 idea is to solve the problem of human work and meow play at the same time. Catable is both a practical table and a cat playground. The "Catable" was launched on the top fashion platform fancy home page, and has received rave reviews, and has been invited to exhibit at international exhibitions such as Milan Design Week, Lyon Architecture China, and Gwangju Design Biennale in Korea, and has made headlines on Time Magazine's website. It is also the first Chinese designer to win the "Innovative Design for Animals Award" from PETA.
Anyone who has a cat has had the following experiences: one is that putting a curled up cat down from your lap always seems like a ritualistic and slightly sad goodbye. The second is that when a cat is faced with a hole the size of its head, it will always dive in, turn around and run out in the small space, get in again, and enjoy it. Therefore, the design of the catable tries to combine the above two experiences to create a perfect place for the interaction between human and cat.
On April 8, 2014, Milan Design Week kicked off with the University of Milan, the highest academic hall, as the centerpiece. In this hall full of design atmosphere, "Yù - actually - Chinese design in progress" was officially presented with 19 groups of works representing the highest level of Chinese design, and continued to be exhibited until April 13. The new work "Catable" by LYCS Architecture became one of the most eye-catching works in the exhibition. The design interpreted the concept of designers meeting life and design meeting life in an unprecedented form of expression and unique design works, and expressed the respect of design for spiritual life forms through the cat table.
