Located in the middle of Guangzhou's Yanjiang Road, on the banks of the scenic Pearl River and adjacent to the bustling commercial and financial district. Guangxin Jiangwan New Town is a 62,090 square-meter project based on Guangzhou's first mixed-use complex in the 1990s, a renovation of the central district and a new construction of the western district. Inspired by the dynamic beauty of the Pearl River, the design concept of "Vertical Pearl River" aims to transform Jiangwan New Town into a cluster of buildings with a unified urban image, respecting the cultural aspects of the city and the Pearl River landscape, but with iconic and individual character.
The new residences in the West End have a special significance along the river. The design creates a rhythm of rhythmical staggering through the change of balconies, echoing the water surface of the Pearl River, just like a standing Pearl River. At the same time, the balconies are staggered and twisted to provide residents with maximum river views and optimal orientation. The elevated bottom level combines landscaping and diverse civic leisure activities and is fully open to the city. The façade renovation of the Middle Zone sublimates the three-stage and receding terrace while respecting the existing aesthetic elements of the building. At the bottom of the Central Zone, the façade renovation was designed to echo the image of the West Zone residences. Through the innovative use of digital design and building materials, a dialogue between the architectural aesthetics of different eras is realized while improving the building's use quality and thermal performance.
