Dezeen | " Catable ": a shared Working Environment for Cats and Their Owners

dezeen shared the design "Catable" designed by LYCS Architecture - a space where cat and owner can share.

"LYCS designers RUAN Hao designed this table containing holes and tunnels to provide a playground for cats. Made of solid wood, the tabletop features a series of openings and tunnels that are hand-carved to create space for the cat to satisfy its curiosity and allow pet owners to share their workspace with the cat. RUAN Hao`s creation is the latest example of a designer responding to the need for animal-oriented furniture." dezzen had this to say.

A decent sized hole can be irresistible to cats. By repeatedly exploring the unknown path behind the hole, their curiosity will be greatly satisfied.

"Anyone who has a cat has had the experience of, for one thing, putting a curled-up cat down from your lap is always a ritualistic and slightly sad farewell. The second is that when a cat is confronted with a hole the size of its head, it will always dive in, turn around and run out in the small space, get in again, and enjoy it. The design of the Catable tries to combine the above two experiences to create a perfect place for human and cat interaction. It is both a practical table and a cat's playground." The designer RUAN Hao explains the original design of " Catable" in this way.
