The project is located in China Electronics Building in Zhongguancun, Haidian, Beijing, with a total area of about 1500 square meters. The mysterious glow of the ethereal curves penetrating the night is as eye-catching as an otherworldly entrance in mid-air. S-GAME is one of China's top developers of mobile games and original IP content. Its "Phantom Blade" series has successfully launched three generations of mobile games. In May of 2023, the 3A level standalone ARPG "Phantom Blade · Zero" being developed by the company received global player attention as soon as it was exposed at Sony's press conference.

Office space is the external manifestation of a company's corporate culture. How to fulfill the function of office space and interpret Spirit Games' understanding of gaming, what kind of office space do these dream makers of the gaming world need?

Phantom Rings

The world in which "Phantom Blade" takes place is called "Shadow Realm," a semi-space world based on traditional martial arts and featuring steampunk content. It is as familiar as the ancient Chinese martial arts legends but also full of strangeness after the disappearance of dynasties and locations. The world seems to be impacted by distorted energy, full of gloom, contrast, and mystery ......

The design inspiration originated from the game design team as dream weavers and the world they created. The designer aimed to materialize the dreamy effects and to create an immersive office space with a sense of attenuation of space.

Dark aesthetics

Black is the result of the absorption of all colors in the visible spectrum and is the dominant color of the shadow realm. Using different levels of darkness, the designer created a rich texture and a sense of layering that extends infinitely, like stepping into a world of shadows.

The CEO's office, located at the end of the office, is composed of pure white, silver carpets, desks, chairs, metal roofs, and free-flowing curves extend throughout the space. In order to pursue the ultimate space, the simplicity and power of furnishingis used as the basis for the selection of products, such as the calligaris desk and the Roche bobis chair, etc. We strive for consistency in all the details and finally fuse them into an ultimate space as if reality is distorted here.

Between virtual and real

The column, encased by the energy body, appears otherworldly, capturing the instant the energy field is invaded and frozen. Beneath the energy body canopy, social spaces like meeting rooms, reception, negotiation areas, and water bars are naturally separated. Meeting rooms use custom black gradient glass partitions with polka dot arrangements creating a gradient resembling a mini-world in a glass bubble.

As the core area of the office, the water bar is the civic square of the office space. Large steps, bar chairs by vondom, metal bar, tables and chairs of different heights create a relaxing and free atmosphere. The entrance of the office area is the most "dangerous" place in the whole area. The designer reflects the light infinitely through mirrors and light strips, creating a visual effect of infinite space downward extension and stimulating the imagination of breaking the rules.

Immersive office

The impact of the other world is not only in the space. All the elements in the space are disturbed. Tables, chairs, door handles, and even pen holders are turned into strange forms. Two metal chairs weighing 300-400 pounds at the company's entrance have their backs, armrests and legs fused into one, and the wavy curve seems to be an infinite loop. The pencil holder is like melted metal flowing on the desktop. The chairs in the small conference room are from Roche bobois. The smooth curved shape of AVA chairs and the sense of disappearance brought by transparent materials fit perfectly with the temperament of the space. The S-shaped door handle of the president's office evolved from the logo of S-GAME, and at the same time, alludes to SoulframEE, the founder of S-GAME. The backlight is lit up as if a mysterious war blade floats on the black stone rock slab.
