V+ Lounge Hangzhou is the third store of the famous brand V+ in China after Beijing and Chengdu, and the interior space design was done by Waffle Design and LYCS Architecture. The project is located at the southwest corner of Pinghai intersection on Dongpo Road, the busiest core commercial area next to West Lake, with a distant view of the lake from the third floor and less than 100 meters from Apple's largest flagship store in Asia. The unique location of the project conveys the inspiration of the lake, and the design team has incorporated different sensory experiences of underwater, above water and water into the interior space through the use of curves, mirrors and light.

Swimming underwater

The third floor is a comprehensive bar with various types for different customers. A large black and white marble V+ Logo in the lounge changes under different perspectives. Point light sources reflect on the marble wall, using dramatic materials to showcase the floor height.

The bar focuses on creating an underwater space atmosphere. The designer used transparent water patterned glass as the wall and set spotlights and diffuse lights on the top, taking advantage of the depth of the space to create an underwater bar with an interplay of reality and reality, softly presenting the alternating seasons under the changing lights.

Exploration in the Water

The designer innovatively included the West Lake views in the KTV design. The fifth floor has an underwater lake theme, using mirrors and gray walls in private rooms and corridors. The sixth floor has a white, bright, infinite West Lake concept with a simple and dynamic space. Reflective materials in the corridor extend the lake's beauty indoors, contrasting with the interior ceiling. Variable colored lights create a soft wave effect, as if at the lake bottom.

Water sloshing

The seventh and eighth floors are luxurious VIP spaces with a design similar to other floors but more exclusive. Partially opened floors by West Lake create a hollow space, echoing and separating while showing modern water elements.

To capture lake light and movement, the seventh floor uses thick, delicate materials for a water-like feel. The bar area design combines glass and metal, with light creating a glowing jewel effect, making it a visual focal point.
