Campus Hong Kong Student Apartments, located in the Tsuen Wan district of Hong Kong. It is a revolutionary change in how we offer serviced apartments to solve the rental problem of the urban youth population. To meet the challenges of Hong Kong's small land and large population, the designers have completely transformed and designed the entire apartment. The project provides a model to solve the problem for the promising Chinese young people's rental market and allows them to have a real space and life for young people without paying a high cost.

Space layout from the behavior of young people

The whole design revolves around the behavior of young people. In their memory, the most important thing is when they sit around together in the dormitory. The traditional dormitory is exactly 4 people, each occupying a corner with their backs facing each other. This design places a high table in the dormitory so that young people can use it as a carrier space for group behavior, eat in this central area, and study and write homework here. The bed arrangement is also very different from that of a traditional dormitory or apartment. The staggered arrangement not only provides better privacy for each resident but also leaves half of the height space for the lower writing desk.

Rational use of every inch of space

Each apartment has an indoor useable area of only 27 square meters. Within the limited space, the designer uses every inch of space wisely. The floating windows, inside the walls, and even the roof are given practical functional space while ensuring privacy. The roof is made of a blackboard that can be erased and written on. The bookshelves are hidden in the walls, and graffiti and books are used to create each room's personality. The height of the rooms is higher than that of a normal apartment, so whether sleeping on the bed or sitting in a chair, young people can enjoy the comfort of a large-scale space.
