Qinglongwu is located in the beautiful mountainous Tonglu County, which retains a very simple local architectural style and primitive way of life. As a design proposal to renovate the vernacular architecture, we try to restore the users' emotional experience of the vernacular culture and natural environment through the architecture and interior space from their point of view. Unlike most B&B resorts, the "emotional experience" contained in the design is visual and a physical experience that combines physical sensation and behavioral experience. It means that the room and landscape design is no longer centered on traditional hotels' "living" function but on the subject's experience.
"As a design that takes the transformation of vernacular architecture as a means, we try to restore the users' emotional experience of vernacular culture and natural environment through the architecture and interior space with the help of furnishing.
The furniture arrangement returns to nature, focusing on the original texture of furniture, abstract rustic wall paintings, simple bare bulb lamps, and rough wood texture. These traditional rustic elements unfold in a slightly rugged space with simple and rustic steps, thoroughly stimulating the instinct of releasing the nature that a rustic bed and breakfast should have.
The design defines the space of each room and the behaviors that will occur in this space through such behaviors as "sleeping on the floor," "open-air bathing" and "boudoir tent", which completely stimulate the instincts of the vocabulary. With its unique design and arrangement, the "boudoir bed tent" brings people a sense of security and privacy while adding romance and elegance to the sleeping experience. In the "boudoir tent" rooms, people can enjoy a peaceful sleep surrounded only by insects and feel the peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Sleeping on the floor was once the most primitive form of sleep for humans. The "sleeping on the floor" room allows people to relax and soothe their bodies and minds and brings a sense of natural breathing and balance to the body. By sleeping on the ground, people can feel the temperature and sound of the earth more deeply and rediscover the essence of sleep and the beauty of nature.
Open-air bathing is a way to get in touch with nature, and the feeling of being surrounded by nature makes people feel different comfort and relaxation when bathing. In the "open-air bathing" rooms, the sun, wind, water, and even the surrounding vegetation and birdsong become the companion of the bath, making people feel physically and mentally relaxed. The bath is no longer just a simple washing of the body but a kind of respect and gratitude to oneself and nature.
